About Bethel Chapel

Bethel Chapel is over 100 years old; built in 1899 by Dr. Bolling Hobson as Bethel Chapel Presbyterian Church. During a revival during the Great Depression it was purchased by several Holiness ladies in the ministry of Evangelist Effie Gilmer.

Since then it has operated as an independent Pentecostal Community church, at various times known as "Clendennin Holiness Church" and "The Jesus Church".

In 2000 we readopted our original name: Bethel Chapel.
